Habitat Description:

Mountain meadows with rich dark loam, cienagas, or open moist grassy woods. The species does not grow in the intervening low-altitude region.

Distribution Range:

Two disjunct locations: western New Mexico around Mt. Taylor, and the White Mountains of Arizona.
