Habitat Description:
Known only from the type of collection, the locality of which is not certain.
Distribution Range:
Possibly near Glenwood, Sevier County, Utah, at the north end of the Sevier Plateau.
Other Notes:
Penstemon leptanthus, if from near Glenwood, is sympatric with P. wardii, a species with the same kind of canescent puberulence of the herbage, but with larger, glandular-puberulent flowers and a glabrous staminode.
