Other Notes:
P. leiophyllus has been expanded to include P. francisci-pennellii of east-central Nevada and P. keckii of the Charleston Mountains of southern Nevada. As a unit these taxa constitute a sharply delimited species with a distinctive patch of gland-tipped hairs inside the corolla at the base of the upper lip.
