Collected on White Mountain Peak just above the forks of Ruidoso Creek.

Endemic to the Guadalupe Mountains of Culberson County, Texas and Eddy County, New Mexico. Collected on White Mountain Peak just above the forks of Ruidoso Creek.

Other Notes:
This is somewhat, but not very closely, related to the group of P. puniceus and P. wrightii. The plants are not at all glaucous, however, and the form of the corolla is altogether different, especially in the contracted mouth.
