Penstemon attenuatus var. attenuatus
Varieties of Penstemon attenuatus are hypothesized to be of hybrid origin, with P. concertus involved with var. attenuatus and var. palustris. Penstemon albertinus may be involved in the origin of all varieties. Penstemon globosus may be involved in the formation of var. militaris. Penstemon attenuatus var. attenuatus has several different corolla color possibilities, including blues, purples, lavendar to pale pink, or yellow to white.
