Habitat Description:
North or northeast facing slopes of rocky limestone ridges, in crevices of the limestone, in dry washes, or at the floor of limestone cliffs. Only in lower canyons associated with ocotillo, several species of cacti, agave, yucca, and other semi-desert plants.
Distribution Range:
Has not been found to the north in the White Mountains. In Alamo Canyon which is on the west slope of the Sacramento Mountains southeast of Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico.
Soil Type:
Semi-desert soil and in crevices of limestone.

Other Notes:
A careful comparison of fresh specimens indicated that the two species, P. wrightii and P. superbus, are more closely allied morphologically than either of the two is related to P. alamosensis.
