Habitat Description: 
Uncommon on west-facing alluvial fan from limestone rock, desert association.
Distribution Range: 
Nevada, U.S.A., Humboldt County: along the west side of the Jackson Mountains, just north of McGill Canyon, north of Sulphur (town site).

Other Notes: 

Because of its saccate anthers, Penstemon floribundus can be readily placed in the subgenus Saccanthera (Benth.) A. Gray where it can be assigned to the P. kingii group (Holmgren, 1984). Similarities are both morphological and geographical.
