Habitat Description: 
Dry slopes and flats in sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, mountain mahogany, and ponderosa pine communities.
Distribution Range: 
South Lincoln and Clark counties, Nevada, Iron, Wayne, and south Grand counties, Utah, and southwest Colorado, south to the San Bernardino Mountains of south California, to Gila and Pinal counties, Arizona and northwest New Mexico.

Other Notes: 

Penstemon eatonii var. undosus has undulating leaves with a red margin. The stems and leaves are pubescent, the anthers and stigma inserted.
