Distribution Range: 
Endemic to the open juniper forests of Fremont County, Colorado. Sheep Basin, northeast of Texas Creek, Harrington.
Other Notes: 

Species named for Dr. Otto Degener. Such limited endemics as P. degeneri constantly face extinction by man, but through the activities of Dr. and Mrs. Degener and others are now being preserved.
