Habitat Description: 
Low open ground, but occasionally on low hillsides.
Distribution Range: 
Near the Missippi and Ohio Rivers from Mississippi and Arkansas to southern Ohio.
Soil Type: 
Clay to somewhat sandy, often alluvial soils. Most abundant in the alluvial soil near the head of the Mississippi Embayment.
